Alton and Sue Smith of Fort Peck Properties
Alton Smith and Sue Saxton Smith were both born and raised in the Plentywood area of Montana and were high school sweethearts. Alton worked for a pipeline company for about five years and then owned and operated his own horizontal drilling company - "Smith Road Boring" - for 13 years. Alton was a twice-elected Plentywood city councilman, is a certified gunsmith, and also a locksmith. Sue owned and operated a beauty salon for 10 years and later had a picture framing business.
Alton and Sue owned a marine dealership from 1993 to 2004 in Plentywood and Glasgow. Alton is active in Fort Peck Lake activities and Walleyes Unlimited, when he's not out on the lake fishing tournaments or just for fun. Sue is a pianist at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, owns "Fort Peck Properties" and is also an avid fisherman.
Among their accomplishments, perhaps their most important one was raising two beautiful daughters, Melissa in Helena and Jessica of Glasgow. Their most incredible accomplishment? Alton and Sue will be celebrating 35 years of marriage this summer.
